We are officially 23 days away from Selection Sunday, which means it’s time for FOX Sports bracket forecaster Mike DeCourcy to release his updated NCAA Tournament projections.
UConn (East), Houston (South), Purdue (Midwest) and Arizona (West) remain on the top line in DeCourcy’s latest projections. This despite the Boilermakers falling to unranked Ohio State this past weekend, the Huskies falling to No. 15 Creighton on Tuesday, and the Wildcats dropping one to Washington State on Thursday night.
North Carolina, Marquette, Tennessee and Kansas remain on the 2-line, while Iowa State, Alabama, Baylor and Duke make up the 3-line.
Meanwhile, Auburn, Illinois, Creighton and San Diego State are listed as the No. 4 seeds in DeCourcy’s latest projections.
Outside the top-four seeds, other notable teams appearing in DeCourcy’s projections include: Wisconsin (No. 5 seed), Kentucky (No. 6 seed), Michigan State (No. 8 seed), Texas (No. 9 seed) and a pair of Big East teams — Providence and Seton Hall (No. 11 seeds).
As for teams on the bubble, DeCourcy has Nevada, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Utah as his last four teams in the tournament. Wake Forest, Butler, Villanova and Iowa are listed as his first four out, while Virginia Tech, Drake, Cincinnati and Pitt are the next four out.
The Big 12 and SEC lead the way with nine teams apiece in the tournament, with the Big Ten and Mountain West each sporting six. The Big East follows with five teams, while the ACC has four. Meanwhile, the Pac-12 has three teams, with the WCC having two.
