The Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday unveiled their 2023-24 City Edition court, which will make its season debut during tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs (8 p.m. ET on Bally Sports North).
The court complements the Timberwolves’ lake-themed City Edition uniforms, which are predominantly blue but transition to white near the shoulders via a water texture pattern, and is the third design in the team’s rotation, joining their standard and Classic Edition courts.
“Our City Edition uniforms have been making a splash all season long and we’re really excited to debut the matching court,” chief marketing officer Mike Grahl said. “The fun and vibrant lake life theme inside Target Center will now be taken to another level for fans to enjoy this season.”
Minnesota’s primary logo is prominently displayed at midcourt, though it includes the aforementioned water texture in the basketball rather than a solid color, just like it does on the right side of this year’s City Edition shorts.
That pattern is carried over to the keys, as well as part of the baselines and sidelines, as one side features a solid blue tint to match the shorts while the other half includes the pattern to “allow courtside fans to feel like they have their feet in the water.”
The court is complete with “Land of 10,000 Lakes” along the bottom sideline, matching the phrase above the jock tag and the silicone stripes that run down the sides of the uniform, as well as the “Minnesota” wordmark from the jersey on the baselines.
The Timberwolves will use the court four more times this season, including Feb. 28 against the Memphis Grizzlies, March 22 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, April 9 against the Washington Wizards and April 12 against the Atlanta Hawks.
Minnesota previously paired its City Edition uniforms with its In-Season Tournament court or standard court or wore them on the road, going 6-4 in the design – which they plan to wear seven more times, including five times at home and twice on the road – this season.
