The NBA on Thursday evening unveiled the logo for the 76th NBA All-Star Game, which will take place at Footprint Center in Phoenix on Feb. 21, 2027.
“Phoenix is the ultimate basketball destination and we are excited for fans from around the world to experience our amazing city,” Suns chairman Mat Ishbia said. “We will provide an NBA All-Star Weekend unlike any other, showcasing the passion of our fans, our city and everything that we’re building here.”
This marks the city’s fourth time hosting the event, joining the 1974-75, 1994-95 and 2008-09 seasons. The first was held at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, while the more recent games took place at Footprint Center, known as America West Arena in 1995 and US Airways Center in 2009.
New York Knicks guard Walt “Clyde” Frazier notably scored 30 points on his way to MVP honors in 1975, while Sacramento Kings guard Mitch Richmond scored 23 points off the bench to earn the MVP award in 1995.
The last time Phoenix hosted the All-Star Game, late Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and his former teammate, Suns center Shaquille O’Neal, shared the award after scoring 27 and 17 points, respectively.
Naturally, the logos used during those games all featured desert imagery, such as the sun, a cactus and/or mountains. But the 2027 mark follows the template the NBA has used since the 2018 event, with the league’s iconic logo and the All-Star Game wordmark above the location, which is rendered in the host team’s font and color scheme.
For example, this year’s All-Star Game – which was held in Indianapolis – displayed an “Indy” wordmark alongside the ball and racing stripes from the Indiana Pacers’ logo, while the 2027 game includes the ball and sunburst from the Suns’ logo and uniforms.
Future locations include Chase Center in San Francisco, home of the Golden State Warriors, in 2025 and Intuit Dome in Inglewood, the new home of the Los Angeles Clippers, in 2026. The former expectedly features a bridge in the logo and the latter includes palm trees.
