Canadian Premier League side Vancouver FC is looking to soar above their competition in their new primary kits for 2024.
VFC unveiled the new kits on their website and social media channels on Friday, March 15. They pay homage to “the club’s brand inspiration and first official mascot: the bald eagle.”
The jerseys are predominantly black, with a tonal feather pattern that starts at the shoulders and extends onto the sleeves and all the way down the back of the shirt.
While the shirt may appear simple from afar, the feathered cape design … is a rich reminder of community, identity and purpose while looking menacing on the pitch.
Trim around the V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs is light grey, while the VFC crest — which also depicts an eagle — is embroidered on the left chest in red. Macron logos on the chest and sleeves are also red.
The back collar boasts a grey triangular insert with the club motto —”SOMETHING IN THE AIR” — written above in red.
Photos accompanying Friday’s announcement showed players wearing the shirt along with black shorts and black socks while visiting the bald eagle enclosure at the Greater Vancouver Zoo.
Vancouver FC open their sophomore CanPL season on Sunday, April 14, when they host Winnipeg-based Valour FC at Willoughby Community Park at the Langley Events Centre.
